Certified Phlebotomy Technician Program

  • The Certified Phlebotomy Technician program is a comprehensive training that equips individuals with the essential skills and knowledge required to become proficient in venipuncture and blood sample collection techniques. Students learn the proper procedures, safety protocols, and ethical considerations for working in the healthcare field, making them competent and confident in their roles as phlebotomy technicians. Graduates of this program are well-prepared to provide critical support to medical professionals, ensuring accurate and safe blood collection for diagnostic purposes.

  • Gain knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, anatomy and physiology; Infection control; Basic knowledge of blood collection procedures; Specimen preparation and handling; Effective communication and documentation skills; Patient safety and confidentiality; Ethical, legal, and regulatory matters

  • Phlebotomy technicians collect blood from patients and prepare the samples for testing, transfusions, research, or blood donations. Some CPTs explain their work to patients and assist if patients have adverse reactions after their blood is drawn. Certified phlebotomy technicians must carefully identify and label the sample they have drawn and enter it into a database. To avoid contamination, phlebotomy technicians must keep their workspace and medical instruments clean and sanitary.

  • After gaining the Phlebotomy certification, you may work in clinical laboratories, hospitals, community health centers, nursing homes, doctor’s offices, blood donation centers and other health care facilities.

  • Tuition for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician program is $700 and includes all classroom materials and exam fees.

  • Need-based scholarships are available to all eligible applicants. All program applicants will be allowed to indicate their need for financial aide during the application process.
